We’ll cover:

Here’s the quick version:

Savage Affiliates Review

What: Savage Affiliates is a 12-module affiliate marketing course created by Franklin Hatchett.

Price: $197 one-time for Standard or $297 one-time for Super (more info)

Bottom Line: Savage Affiliates was probably a decent course back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, but try to make money following this today and you’ll struggle.

Honestly, this review didn’t turn out how I thought it would. I had high expectations going in because Franklin Hatchett is so well-known and so many people promote his course.

But to say this was a disappointment is an understatement and I’m sure anyone else buying this training would want to take advantage of the 30-day money-back guarantee.

If you’re serious about making $10k/month online, don’t waste your time on this outdated training and check out these top affiliate marketing courses (ranked and reviewed) instead.

What Is Savage Affiliates?

Savage Affiliates is an online course by Franklin Hachett aimed at showing beginners how to start a successful affiliate marketing business.

Here’s how they put it on the sales page:

what is savage affiliates by franklin hatchett

Savage Affiliates was launched in 2018, updated in 2019 and unfortunately (as you’ll see) completely abandoned in 2024.

Who Is Franklin Hatchett?

Franklin Hatchett is very popular YouTuber and well-known affiliate marketer with 578k subscribers:

frank hatchett youtube channel

From New Zealand, he embarked on a journey to escape the 9-5 grind and earn passive income online.

After immersing himself in various online business models, he found success in dropshipping, selling sneakers and clothing. As Shopify and Facebook ads emerged, his business soared to six-figures per month.

Franklin later ventured into affiliate marketing, leveraging his website OnlineDimes.com to earn commissions.

His claim to fame was when he was included in an expert roundup on Entrepreneur Magazine.

He’s gone on to make more than $1 million promoting ClickFunnels (more on this later) and apparentely makes $10k+ a month promoting Shopify.

As well as Savage Affiliates, he created a dropshipping course called Ecom Elites which I’d say is his primary focus right now.

How Does Savage Affiliates Help You Make Money?

Franklin Hatchett’s training aims to give beginners the “ultimate blueprint” on how to set up and run a profitable affiliate marketing business.

Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services online and make a commission on each sale.

You need to get people clicking your affiliate links if you want to make serious money as an affiliate.

The Savage Affiliates course teaches 2 main methods of generating traffic and making sales:

The first way is building a website and using SEO and content creation to rank for specific keywords, get traffic and then promote relevant affiliate programs.

what is affiliate marketing

This is super beginner friendly because it’s incredibly low-cost and low-risk and it’s exactly what we teach for free at Commission Academy.

The second way is by using Clickfunnels to create sales funnels and landing pages and running paid Facebook, YouTube and Google ads to promote affiliate products.

This is more advanced and, though not recommended if you’re just starting out, it can be a great way to scale up further down the line.

How Is The Training Structured?

The Savage Affiliates course is made up of 200 videos split into 12 modules with 30+ hours of in-depth affiliate marketing training.

Franklin shows you how to:

Here’s how the course is laid out:

is savage affiliates worth the money

Look at the course modules and you could be forgiven for thinking this is a well-thought-out and well-structured course…

It’s not!

The whole course feels like Franklin Hatchett’s brain dump. It’s scattered, unorganised and super confusing for anyone, but especially beginners.

Remember what I said about there being 2 different income methods?

Method #1 is building a WordPress website and getting free traffic from search engines like Google and Method #2 is paying for a ClickFunnels subscription and getting traffic via paid ads.

Well, Module 1 covers income method 2.

Modules 2-5 cover method 1.

Modules 6-7 cover method 2.

Module 8 covers method 1

Module 9 covers method 2.

See what I mean?

It’s an absolute mess.

Thankfully within the Intro Module there’s a much-needed 4-minute video on how to navigate and follow the course:

Is Savage Affiliates Good For Beginners

How Much Does Savage Affiliates Cost?

Savage Affiliates has 2 pricing options:

  • Standard for $197 one-time
  • Super for $297 one-time

The only difference between Standard and Super is you get two more ClickFunnel training modules.

You should also know that you’ll incur a few additional costs after signing up for Savage Affiliates…

Web hostingBluehost$2.95/month
Email softwareGetResponse$49/month
Funnel builderClickFunnels$147-$297/month
Keyword toolAhrefs$99-$999/month

So, if you are going to sign up, I’d recommend you set aside a budget of at least $300 a month plus however much you want to put into Facebook, YouTube and Google ads.

Savage Affiliates Discount?

Unfortunately, there are no Savage Affiliates discounts available at the moment and I think it’s highly unlikely Franklin Hatchett will offer any in the future.

Can You Get A Refund?

On the sales page, they promise a full 30 day money back period:

savage affiliates review pros and cons

This is an action-based refund policy which means you have to prove you’ve actually gone through and taken action on the training.

And honestly, I don’t mind that – Invincible Marketer does this as well.

I understand courses have to protect themselves from people signing up, copying all the content and asking for their money back on the same day.

What I do have a problem with is that it’s impossible to fulfil the requirements to ask for a refund with Savage Affiliates because the Facebook group has been shut down for 2 years or more.

Here’s what Frank says is required on his refund policy page:

  • The member has logged into the training at least once. (We check this)
  • The member has watched at least 50% of the training. (we check this)
  • The member has joined the private Facebook group. (we check this)
  • The member has made an effort to Start a live Website or Youtube Channel or blog or funnel or any other type of website or funnel we teach in this training.

So can you really get your money back? I honestly doubt it.

5 HUGE Savage Affiliates Red Flags 🚩

This is the part of the review I usually go through the full pros and cons but I’m struggling to come up with any pros at this point as there are just too many red flags.

Let’s go through them one by one…

1. The Whole Thing Is A ClickFunnels Hard Sell

I can’t shake off the feeling the whole purpose of Savage Affiliates is to get you to sign up for a hefty ClickFunnels subscription.

This guy on Quora got it 100% right:

savage affiliates by franklin hatchett criticism

And I read a Savage Affiliates review that tried defending Franklin’s ClickFunnel hard sell:

There are no upsells to Savage Affiliates. You can buy either the “standard” or “super” version. Once you’re in, there’s no pressure to buy anything else.

There are tools that are needed such as an autoresponder, keyword research tool, or an optional Clickfunnels account. But these tools are necessary expenses to run an affiliate marketing business and have nothing to do with Savage Affiliates directly.

This is clearly untrue.

On the “no pressure to buy anything else” front, sure…

That’s why the members’ area is plastered with ClickFunnels links and there are 3 whole modules focused on building landing pages with ClickFunnels.

Yeah, no pressure, but you won’t be able to follow the training you just paid for without it… πŸ™„

And I’m confused – is Drew saying here that ClickFunnels is optional or necessary?

Lastly, how can you say it has nothing to do with Savage Affiliates directly when it’s Franklin himself telling you to sign up for ClickFunnels from within the Savage Affiliates training?

Seems pretty direct to me.

Anyways, I digress…

The fact of the matter is you do NOT need to buy ClickFunnels in order to achieve massive affiliate marketing success.

2. Dangerously Outdated Training

Relying on outdated training is like trying to paddle upstream in a leaky canoe…

Which is annoying enough when you’re learning how to speak a language or play the guitar…

But this is an affiliate marketing course teaching you how to run paid ads…

And it’s 5 years out of date!

You can lose money with paid ads at the best of times but trying to follow videos on how to run Facebook ads, Google ads and YouTube ads that were last updated in 2019 is near-impossible.

How can you be expected to follow along when the layout is completely different?

What chance have you got of making a profit when you’re learning what might’ve worked 5 years ago?

I’ve heard stories of students having to pause the training and find a YouTube video to find out what they’ve paid $197+ to find out and that’s just unacceptable.

3. You Don’t Get What You Pay For

This is what it really comes down to:

What you’re promised on the sales page and what you get inside the training area do not match.

You’re promised weekly videos with Q&A sessions – there haven’t been weekly videos since around 2021.

You’re promised lifetime updates – there has been no update since 2019.

Is Savage Affiliates a scam or legit review

Up until very recently you were promised access to the Private Inner Circle despite that not being available for years. At least they took that off the sales page.

And where’s the support?!

Savage Affiliate members used to have access to a private Facebook group but it shut down 2 years ago.

Here’s what happens when you try to join the Facebook group as instructed in the introductory lessons:

savage affiliates support

So without the Facebook group or the weekly calls, what support is there?

There is a support email address but I emailed them a week ago and I’m still waiting for a reply…

This begs the question:

Yes, they have a refund policy listed on the site but is anyone still there checking the emails?

I wouldn’t bank on it.

4. Savage Affiliates Has Been Abandoned

Franklin Hatchett openly admitted on YouTube recently that Savage Affiliates is no longer his main focus.

This already shows in the fact the Savage Affiliates homepage has loading errors…

is savage affiliates a scam or legit

It’s clear Franklin Hatchett has left the building.

And if you’re a beginner looking for an affiliate marketing mentor to guide you through the entire process of setting up a profitable affiliate marketing business, you won’t get that here.

5. Students Struggling To Get Results

After a lot of digging, I have yet to find a single credible student success story anytime after 2018.

This gal paid $400 AUD in FB ads trying to make sales and didn’t make a dime:

Though that’s no wonder considering no wonder when students are left high and dry with zero updates and zero support.

Is Savage Affiliates A Scam or Legit?

Savage Affiliates was once a very legit and cutting-edge course but as time goes on without any updates, the gap between what’s described on the sales page and what you end up getting after handing your money over gets bigger and bigger…

And that’s a problem.

Keep in mind:

  • There’s not been a single student success story since 2018
  • Not a single lesson has been updated since 2019
  • There is no more Private Inner Circle
  • There are no weekly videos with Q&A sessions
  • The Facebook community has been shut down
  • There is zero support for students trying to navigate through the obsolete training

And remember, it’s technically impossible to get a refund based on their refund policy as you can’t join the Facebook group (because it no longer exists) and no one’s replying to support emails.

It’s not looking good, is it?

I’m hesitant to call Savage Affiliates a scam but it is becoming borderline…

They either need to shut it down or update it soon or people are going to get angry.

Is Savage Affiliates Worth The Money?

Nope, don’t do it – this isn’t a course I can recommend to anyone.

Sign up to Savage Affiliates today and you’ll be throwing money away without any way of getting it back.

And the whole course is a sales funnel designed to get you sign up for ClickFunnels anyway.

I didn’t start this review thinking I’d end up saying that (I expected better from Franklin) but here we are.

The Best Affiliate Marketing Course?

We’re on a mission to uncover the best affiliate marketing courses out there.

Savage Affiliates is a massive disappointment of a course and doesn’t make it to the top of our list…
