Are you looking for a good side hustle, considering blogging, but wondering if it’s worth it?

Well, rest assured you’ve landed in exactly the right place.

In this blog post, I’ll be breaking down if blogging is worth it, if it is a good side hustle & most importantly, if it can actually make you a handsome income on the side.

So if you’re wanting to find out how much you can earn by blogging & how much time you’ll need to invest to make it happen, keep on reading for everything you need to know.

Is Blogging a Good Side Hustle?

Yes, blogging is an absolutely fantastic side hustle & I can say that with confidence because I personally rolled with it as my own side hustle many years ago.

But it was so good that it ended up becoming my full-time hustle.

That’s right, blogging eventually enabled me to leave my job & as a result, I’ve been able to enjoy time freedom, location freedom & money freedom.

Admittedly, it’s not all sunshine & rainbows, but the reasons I believe blogging is good side hustle are:

But of course, the most important factor for a good side hustle is a nice balance between earning a decent amount of money whilst not having to work too many hours.

Thankfully, blogging makes for the perfect happy medium.

It won’t make you rich overnight, but if you stick with it, you can quite easily find yourself earning over $500 per month from blogging whilst working just 1 or 2 hours per day.

And if you work really hard or increase the hours you work, it’s very achievable (even for beginners) to earn in excess of $1,000+ per month within their first year or 2.

This brings me nicely to the next point.

How Long Does It Take To Make $100 Blogging?

When it comes to blogging, people always typically have the same goals. They want to earn their first $100 for “proof of concept”, and then they want to earn $100 per day.

But how long does it take to earn that first $100 blogging?

Well, obviously, the answer to this question is a little difficult as blogging is based on effort & different people will put in varying levels of effort.

However, it’s not impossible to earn $100 in your very first month as a blogger. It’s certainly unlikely (if you’re brand new), but it’s not impossible.

You see, if you leverage something known as affiliate marketing on your blog (which is what we teach here at Commission Academy), then you can earn commissions by promoting products or services online.

And there are many products or services that pay $100 commissions per sale… So, technically, you could earn your first $100 just from 1 single sale.

But that’s just me highlighting what’s possible. Let’s be realistic…

If you’re totally brand new to blogging, you should set your first month or 2 aside purely to learn about how it works & how to get everything set up.

So, realistically, you will likely be talking somewhere between months 3 & 6 to begin earning your first commissions as a blogger.

And as to how long it takes you to make $100, well, it depends on what you’re promoting & how much content you’ve added to your blog.

It’s certainly achievable to make $100 within 3-6 months, though. Then, from there, it’s simply a case of scaling your income up.

Can You Make $10K Per Month By Blogging?

Yes, you can certainly earn $10k per month by blogging. And whilst that sounds like a lot of money (which it is), you could even earn more.

In fact, believe it or not, there are many bloggers earning over 6-figures every single month.

Pretty crazy stuff!

But that’s why, here at Commission Academy, we love blogging… Because it provides such a fantastic way to build up a large income online.

You see, when you blog correctly (as we teach in our training), your income compounds.

This means that with every blog post you publish, the traffic to your website increases & therefore, more traffic means more sales which, ultimately, means more money.

So once you’ve figured out how to make $1, it’s simply a case of scaling it up until you make $100 per day or $10k per month… Or until you become a millionaire by blogging.

How Much Can You Earn In Your First Year of Blogging?

This depends mostly on how hard you work & how much blog content you create, but even as a brand-new blogger, you can still earn handsome amounts of money in your very first year.

You could earn $10,000+ in your first year as a blogger.

To be honest, you could earn even more.

But on average, given that people typically start earning around the months 3 to 6 mark & that they typically earn around $500 to $1,000 per month in their first year, around ~$5,000 is a more realistic figure.

The best way to earn as much as possible is to follow a proven blueprint, like the one that we teach in our free training so that you can shortcut your way to success.

What Type of Blog Is Most Profitable?

Ideally, you’d be best staying away from creating a personal blog & instead looking to create what is known as a niche blog.

This is a blog that focuses on a small, specific subject within a larger industry.

So, for example, if you enjoy fitness, you could create a niche blog such as a “home workout blog”, a “kettlebell workout blog” or a “yoga blog”, etc.

The reason it’s best to go down this route is that by keeping the topic really specific, you build up a laser-targeted audience… And this makes it easier to promote things & convert visitors into sales.

After all, if you know that every single person visiting your website is interested in home workouts, that gives you a major advantage because you know exactly what types of products to promote.

Whereas if you just have a personal blog, how do you know what your readers in at that specific moment in time that they’re reading your blog?

The short answer is you don’t.

So a niche blog is always the most profitable type of blog & the good news is that we’ve not only got guides on choosing a niche, but we’ve also got several examples of how to actually start niche blogs, such as:

And for any other niche ideas, we’ve also got a generalized guide on starting a profitable blog in any niche.

The Bottom Line – Is Blogging Good For Side Income?

Hopefully, this post has helped you to see that blogging is absolutely fantastic for side income & that blogging can make for a great side hustle.

Not only does it require little time per day to start making money with a blog, but you can also launch a blog for next-to-no investment.

And alongside that, you can start affiliate marketing for free to monetize your blog & earn commissions.

So when it comes to side hustles, we rate blogging highly… And if blogging wasn’t a good side hustle, I wouldn’t be wasting my time writing this blog post 😂.

So take it from me, blogging is a fantastic side hustle & given that I’m all for an easy life, if there was a better side hustle to do, you can believe I’d be doing it.
