Tracking Your Website Traffic Using Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a website tracking and reporting service offered by Google.

It’s free of charge to use, and it’s quite simple to set up.

Here’s a quick guide on how to see how many clicks your website gets using Google Analytics.

1. Go to google.com/analytics and log in with your Google account. If you don’t have a Google account, you can create one.

2. Click Sign up for free.

3. Enter your website’s URL and click Continue.

4. Choose between “I want to track a website” and “I want to track a mobile app.” For this guide, we’ll choose “I want to track a website.”

5. Fill out the required information about your website and click Create Tracking ID. You’ll be given a tracking ID that looks something like this: UA-XXXXX-XX.

6. Copy and paste your tracking ID into the code of the website you want to track. You can do this manually, or you can use some WordPress plugin

7. Wait 24-48 hours for data to appear in your account.

8. Once data appears in your account, click Behavior in the left-hand sidebar, then click Site Content.

9. Here you’ll see a list of all the pages on your site, along with how many views and unique views each page has gotten. To see how many clicks each page has gotten, click on the little green bar next to the number of views for each page.

10. A graph will pop up showing you how many clicks each page has gotten over time. And that’s it! Now you know how popular your website is and which pages are getting the most clicks.

Google Analytics is a helpful tool for understanding how popular your website is and which pages are getting the most traffic. It’s free to use and easy to set up – all you need is a Google account and a few minutes of your time.

Tracking Your Website Traffic Using Search Console

2. If you’re not signed in to your Google account, click Go To Search Console and sign in with your Google account credentials.

6. Finally, click Apply Filter.

7. Above the table of data, you’ll see metrics for impressions, clicks, and average position.

8. You can also click on an URL to view data for that specific page on your website.

Google Analytics vs. Search Console: Which Is Better For Tracking Website Performance?

As a website owner, it’s important to track your website’s performance so that you can identify areas that need improvement. To do this, you need to use the right tools.

Two of the most popular tools for tracking website performance are Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

But which one is better?

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics tool that provides website owners with insights into how their site is being used by visitors. Analytics shows you things like what pages people are visiting, how long they’re staying on those pages, what kind of devices they’re using, and where they’re coming from (i.e., what search engine or other site they used to get to your site).

You can also use Google Analytics to track conversion goals, such as sign-ups for a newsletter or purchases made on your site.

Search Console

Search Console is a tool designed for website owners who want to monitor and improve their site’s performance in Google search results. Unlike Analytics, which shows you how people are using your site after they’ve found it, Search Console lets you see how well your site is performing in search results and why it might not be appearing as often as you’d like.

Search Console also allows you to submit your sitemap to Google and request that your site be re-indexed if you’ve made major changes that you want reflected in search results right away.

Which one is better for you? It really depends on what type of data you’re looking to track. If SEO is your primary concern, then Search Console is the better tool for the job.

However, if you want to track a wider range of data points about your website’s visitors, then Google Analytics is the way to go.

Whichever tool you choose, make sure you’re using it regularly so that you can spot any potential issues with your website and take corrective action accordingly.

Tracking Your Competitor’s Traffic Data

Knowing how much traffic your competitor’s website is getting is valuable information. It can give you insights into how well their marketing campaign is going, what keywords they are targeting, and which social media channels are driving the most traffic to their site.

While this information is valuable, it can be difficult to track down.

There are many tracker tools available online that will allow you to track your competitor’s website traffic. Some of these tools are free while others come with a monthly fee.

Here are some popular tools for tracking your competitor’s data:

1. Ahrefs

If you own or operate a website, then it’s important to track your competitor’s website traffic. Luckily, there’s a tool that can help you do just that – Ahrefs

Ahrefs is a web-based application that allows users to monitor their website’s SEO performance and track their competitor’s websites. In addition to traffic tracking, Ahrefs provides users with detailed information about their website’s backlink profile and anchor text distribution.

To get started, visit the Ahrefs website and create an account. Once you’ve done so, you’ll be able to access the tool’s comprehensive suite of features.

To track your competitor’s website traffic, enter your competitor’s URL into the “Site Explorer” tool and click “Search.” Once the results populate, click on the “Organic Search” tab to view your competitor’s estimated monthly organic traffic.

You can also see how many keywords your competitor is ranking for by clicking on the “Keywords” tab. Here, you’ll be able to see which keywords are driving the most traffic to your competitor’s website.

As you can see, using Ahrefs to track your competitor’s website traffic is a quick and easy way to gain insights into your competition. By understanding which keywords they’re targeting and how much organic traffic they’re receiving, you can make more informed decisions about your own SEO strategy.

2 .Semrush

Semrush is a platform that provides insights into a website’s traffic.

With Semrush, you can see how much traffic a website is getting, where that traffic is coming from, and what keywords are being used to find the website. This information can be valuable in understanding your competitor’s strengths and weaknesses.

After creating an account, you can simply enter the URL of the competitor’s website you want to track. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be presented with a dashboard that shows you a variety of information about the website, including its organic traffic, paid traffic, top keywords, and more. You can use this information to understand where your competitor is succeeding and where they might be struggling.

Additionally, you can use the information to improve your own website so that you can better compete for traffic.

3. Moz

Moz is one of the most well-known names in online marketing and SEO. Their online platform offers a range of free SEO tools that you can use to monitor your competition’s traffic.

Use the Keyword Explorer tool to determine which keywords generate the most traffic. Doing this can help you find your competition and understand how much work it’ll take for you to rank above them.

Additionally, keyword performance is reflective of a company’s general standing in its market.

Moz’s Link Explorer tool allows you to type in a competitor’s URL and receive a report on their backlinks, top-ranking keywords, and other websites targeting the same terms.

These reports can help Moz users learn about competitors’ online marketing strategies, sources of traffic and target keywords.

4. SimilarWeb

In addition to traffic data, SimilarWeb also provides insights into engagement metrics like bounce rate and average time on site. This information can be valuable in terms of understanding how well your competitors’ websites are converting visitors into leads or customers.

If you see that their bounce rate is high or their average time on site is low, then that might be an opportunity for you to improve your own website and get more conversions as a result.

To get started, simply put your competitor’s URL into the search bar and hit “Enter.”

You’ll be taken to your competitor’s page on SimilarWeb where you can see all sorts of information about their website traffic. For example, you can see how much traffic they get from each country and what percentage of that traffic is organic or paid. You can also see which referral sites are sending them the most traffic.

All of this information is valuable in terms of understanding your competitors and where they get their traffic from. If you see that they’re getting a lot of traffic from a certain country or referrer that you’re not, then that’s an opportunity for you to try and get some of that traffic yourself.

Conversely, if you see that they’re getting very little traffic from certain sources, then that might be an opportunity for you to capitalize on.

Seeing How Many Clicks A Website Gets: The Bottom Line

By looking at a website’s click-through rate, you can get an idea of how popular the site is. The higher the click-through rate, the more clicks the site gets.

There are a number of ways to find out a website’s click-through rate.

You can use a web analytics tool like Google Analytics or Search Console to find out your own website’s data.

On the other hand, if you want to track your competitors, you can any of the above free or paid tools to get their statistics.
