Congratulations, your blog is now live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step5\">Step 5: Customize Your Blog<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take some time to go through the back end of your website and play around with the design options. You can do this easily by going to <strong>Appearance<\/strong> and <strong>Customize<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can change the colors, fonts, and layout. You can build a logo completely for free with <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/goto\/canva\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canva<\/a> or go to <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/goto\/fiverr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fiverr<\/a> and find a freelancer there who will do it for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For an affiliate marketing blog, keep the logo and color schemes simple, straightforward, and easy to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step6\">Step 6: Create Great Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A great way to get ideas for your content is to do some keyword research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A keyword is a focus word. Keyword research tools, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/goto\/mangools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mangools<\/a>, show you how many times a month a single word or phrase is searched for by users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep in mind, the top-notch keywords are going to be taken by the heavy hitters. You are not the first person to promote and try to make money from a variety of affiliate products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most important use of these tools is to help you find keywords that can land your content on the first page of the Google search results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go through Mangools and try to find some low-hanging fruit, build phenomenal content around them and use these easy-to-rank keywords effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internal Linking and External Linking<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/whats-the-difference-between-an-internal-and-external-link\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">An internal link<\/a> is when you have a link from one blog post to another blog post on your website.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You built a great piece of content around a keyword that\u2019s easy to rank. It gets traffic to your website. Now what? Use internal links to push readers to other content that has a lower chance of being ranked due to highly competitive keywords.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This content may have awesome affiliate links or just great informational content. Either way, keeping people on your website will increase sales in the form of ads. It will also impress Google, as the time readers spend on your website is a ranking factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t forget to include <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/whats-the-difference-between-an-internal-and-external-link\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">external links<\/a> in your content as well. This shows your audience and search engines that you know how to do research and back up your claims with legitimate data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating Content<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start each post off with a catchy title and a short and sweet introduction that makes the reader crave more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Write an outline for each blog post and think about the headers. Sprinkle some keywords into the headers as well as a few throughout your piece. Do not stuff them in. Make them natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The key to creating the best content for a profitable blog is to write posts that help people and give them actionable advice. Two of my favorites are ad networks and affiliate marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For ad networks, <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/goto\/ezoic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ezoic<\/a> is your best bet. They put ads on your blog and you get paid depending on how many views your blog has. They work with new bloggers and will continue to work with you as your site and revenue grows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/themakemoneyonlineblog.com\/affiliate-marketing\/\">Affiliate marketing<\/a> is my favorite way to earn money with a new website.
