(SEO Keywords Per Page)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the primary methods of online marketing that we teach here at <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\">Commission Academy<\/a> is SEO, otherwise known as Search Engine Optimisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We teach people how to find keywords &amp; how to create content targeting those contents in a way that will get it to rank high in search engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And as a result, we get asked the same question a lot, which is; how many keywords should a blog post have?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, how many SEO keywords per page is it okay to target? Should you target just the one? Or target several all from the same post?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So we&#8217;ve decided to put this blog post together today explaining exactly how many SEO keywords you should have per blog post &amp; why, if you&#8217;re asking this question, you might be thinking about keywords all wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s get straight to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Many Keywords Should a Blog Post Have?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Getting content to rank high in search engines is all about providing the most relevant &amp; helpful content for the search query.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means that when planning a new blog post or page you should always focus on just 1 specific keyword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But, this doesn&#8217;t mean that the entire post should only have, or target one keyword. It simply means that it should only have 1 focus keyword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It can have unlimited secondary keywords, providing they&#8217;re closely related to the main focus keyword &amp; providing they don&#8217;t overlap with focus keywords from any of your other posts or pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, as an example, the primary keyword for this blog post that you&#8217;re reading right now is &#8220;<em>how many keywords should a blog post have?<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s why we&#8217;ve got it in the title of the page &amp; that&#8217;s why we&#8217;ve mentioned it a few times throughout the body content already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But whilst doing our research, we also noticed that there are a few closely related keywords, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How Many SEO Keywords Per Page<\/li><li>How Many Keywords Per Blog Post<\/li><li>How Many Keywords Are Good For SEO<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And there are more, but that&#8217;s just to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what you can likely immediately see is that they&#8217;re all very similar to each other. This means that we wouldn&#8217;t create separate pages or blog posts for each because they&#8217;d &#8220;overlap&#8221;, which is otherwise known as cannibalizing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cannibalized keywords are really bad for SEO because they confuse search engines. The search engines simply just don&#8217;t know which page to rank &amp; because the topic is so close, they may even deem those pages as being duplicated content &amp; as a result, rank none of them at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what do we do? Simple, we can all the variations from the same post, as <strong>secondary<\/strong> keywords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And as mentioned a little further above, you can have as many secondary keywords as you like, providing they remain closely related to the main keyword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Search engines will then see your page as being relevant to all of those terms &amp; as a result, your page or post should ultimately rank much higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And an easy way to find secondary keywords that are related to your main focus keyword is to use the People Also Ask (PAA) section of Google search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simply type in your main focus keyword, and check out the PAA&#8217;s, as highlighted below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"878\" height=\"644\" src=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/how-many-seo-keywords-per-page.jpg\" alt=\"Google Search Results For How Many SEO Keywords Per Page\" class=\"wp-image-5296\" srcset=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/how-many-seo-keywords-per-page.jpg 878w, https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/how-many-seo-keywords-per-page-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/how-many-seo-keywords-per-page-768x563.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 878px) 100vw, 878px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you can see, we&#8217;ve been provided with 3 additional secondary keywords &amp; clicking on the arrow to expand a section will load up even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So that brings us to the next point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Many Keywords Is Too Many For SEO?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There isn&#8217;t a hard limit on how many keywords you can use for SEO. The question you need to ask is simply; &#8220;how many keywords are relevant to the topic?&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, once you&#8217;ve got your list of focus keywords &amp; secondary keywords you simply need to go ahead &amp; produce the content as naturally as you possibly can, almost without thinking about the keywords at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We recommend this method because you&#8217;ll find that as you write, the keywords you&#8217;re targeting will appear within the content naturally&#8230; Whereas if you were to focus on &#8220;inserting&#8221; keywords the content would likely appear unnatural &amp; worse, you may overdo it and put yourself at risk of &#8220;keyword stuffing&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You see, whilst many years ago search engines weren&#8217;t all that smart &amp; required you to physically type the keyword several times to understand what your content is about, these days, they&#8217;re much much smarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, thanks to a technology known as <a href=\"https:\/\/backlinko.com\/hub\/seo\/lsi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">LSI<\/a>, search engines can still understand the relevancy of your content &amp; rank it for keywords even if they weren&#8217;t specifically mentioned at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But, it&#8217;s always good practice to try somewhat to include your focus keywords a handful of times. Just make sure that you don&#8217;t overdo it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of how many you can target, though (and not how many times you should include keywords), there is truly no limit at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your focus keyword only has 3 closely related secondary keywords, just include the 3&#8230; But if it has 50 closely related secondary keywords, by all means, feel free to produce a mammoth article targeting them all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, we&#8217;d actually highly encourage you to do so as that&#8217;s typically <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/search\/docs\/beginner\/seo-starter-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">SEO best practice<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that point brings us nicely to the next question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Many Keywords Can You Rank For With One Page?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can rank for an unlimited number of keywords with one page. A page has no hard limit set on the number of keywords it can rank for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, that is providing that all the keywords are relevant to the overall topic of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, we couldn&#8217;t just start randomly talking about mountain bikes on this page &amp; expect it to rank for that but we could produce a mammoth 50,000-word article going super in-depth into on-page SEO keywords &amp; expect it to rank for hundreds or potentially thousands of different keywords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And we can say that with confidence because we&#8217;ve done it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we create a <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/how-to-choose-an-affiliate-marketing-niche\/\">niche website<\/a> we always start out by creating a mammoth piece of pillar content &amp; then linking to it from all future content&#8230; And we&#8217;ve had some pretty impressive results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re literally talking about pages ranking #1 for hundreds (yes, hundreds) of different SEO keywords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bottom Line<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you&#8217;re creating content to target keywords for SEO, you can target as many as you like providing they&#8217;re all relevant to the overall topic of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it&#8217;s best to pick one focus keyword &amp; then treat all of the rest as secondaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And as an example of this in practice, just take a look at this page that we&#8217;ve created right here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As mentioned, our focus keyword is &#8220;how many keywords should a blog post have?&#8221; but then our secondaries that we&#8217;ve gone for include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How Many SEO Keywords Per Page<\/li><li>How Many Keywords Is Too Many For SEO<\/li><li>How Many Keywords Can You Rank For With One Page<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They&#8217;re all super relevant to the main focus keyword &amp; therefore add value to the search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And to target them, we&#8217;ve simply added them as sections to the page. This gives search engines the opportunity to grab the content &amp; rank the additional keywords as <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/search\/docs\/advanced\/appearance\/featured-snippets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">featured snippets<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So yeah, in short, pick a focus keyword, pick some highly-relevant secondaries using the PAA method as outlined above &amp; create some kick-ass <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\/blog\/what-is-evergreen-content\/\">evergreen content<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You&#8217;ll then find that you can rank for many keywords, all from the same page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you&#8217;d like more keyword &amp; SEO tips (such as how to find profitable keywords that you can easily rank for overnight) then be sure to <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.academy\">check out our free training<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take it from us, it&#8217;s good stuff.
